Energy contained in a residual stream from industrial processes in the form of heat, chemical energy or pressure, for which it can be demonstrated that it would have been wasted in the absence of the project activity. Examples of waste energy include the energy contained in gases flared or released into the atmosphere, the heat or pressure from a residual stream not recovered (i.e. wasted).
