POLYCHLORINATED BIPHENYL (PCB)

A group of toxic, persistent chemicals that once were used in high voltage electrical transformers because they conducted heat well while being fire resistant and good electrical insulators. These contaminants are typically generated from metal degreasing, printed circuit board cleaning, gasoline, and wood preserving processes.
