The EUA Futures contract on ICE Endex facilitates the trading of European Union Allowances (EUAs), which are permits under the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) allowing the emission of one tonne of CO₂ equivalent. These contracts are physically settled, meaning that upon expiration, the holder must deliver or receive the actual EUAs through the EU registry.
